The SACHS Performance clutch pressure plate for Porsche 911 (997), among others is firmly bolted to the flywheel and, when engaged, transmits the engine torque to the clutch disc via the housing, the tangential leaf springs and the clutch pressure plate. Decisive factors for the design of the pressure plate for your Porsche are the heat capacity of the pressure plate and the contact and release force of the diaphragm spring.

Transmission Clutch Pressure Plate

A pressure plate is a component within a vehicle's clutch system that applies pressure to the clutch disc, allowing the driver to engage and disengage gears; when a pressure plate fails, common symptoms include difficulty shifting gears, a spongy clutch pedal, slipping clutch (loss of power during acceleration), unusual noises when engaging the clutch, and sometimes a burning smell from the clutch area.
