Brake pads can be made of several materials such as a semi-metallic compound, ceramic compound, or organic. Brake pads are suggested to be checked frequently during oil changes or routine services for wear to ensure you have at least the minimum pad thickness as stated by the car manufacturer.

Great all-around pads with LOW dust
I installed similar pads on my E46 sedan and loved them, and figured they'd be just as great on my 996. I use the car primarily for street driving with the occasional road trip, spirited drive, track day, etc.. and these pads are perfect for that. Purpose-built track pads will likely perform better, but for dual-purpose or mostly street use where sound, consistency, and dusting are a concern these pads are the ticket. I have yet to take them to a track on this car (did a track day in the e46 with these pads, happy with performance), but in all other circumstances that I have used them they are outstanding. Great, predictable brake feel, consistent performance through heat cycles, low noise, and impressively low brake dust (very important if your car has the Sport classic 2 wheels like mine, which are a chore to clean!). Overall very satisfied with these pads, wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

Less dust, Great stopping power
Previous owner had Brembo pads. They were good, but just threw black brake dust all over the wheels. So bad, my wheels never looked clean. These dont do it, and wheels are easy to hose off. Cant wait to replace my front pads. Dont forget to order shims and wear sensors. 4 shims/caliper and 1 wear sensor per side for rear.
