Zimmermann Brake Kit for 997 Turbo
After searching multiple sites, I finally came across FCP Euro based upon good feedback in forums and Facebook Groups. Based upon research, I decided to select the Zimmerman Kit instead of OEM or Sebro. I stuck with the crossed drilled to match my currents, but I'm trying the one with the Z Coat to see if it helps. I just bought very expensive wheels, so I am going for less dust than before. I chose Brembo Ceramic Pads all around. This is my first major purchase from FCP, so I received a discount on the order for signing up for marketing emails. Anyway, this is my first major DIY repair on my Turbo so I thought the kit would be more reliable than trying to select parts myself. After receiving it, the rotors and pads were great....and fit perfectly. I especially like the pads, since they have red to match my calipers on the outside. The clips were good, the screws for the rotors were good. The wear sensors that arrived sucked and don't fit my car, they are two short by around 2 inches and the ones for the front are a totally different design. The caliper bolts that came with my kit also have the Torx patterns instead of Hex bolts. I read that Hex is supposed to be current, so I wasted a bunch of money on bolts that I'm not likely to use. FCP said I could return them, but I hate shipping stuff....so I'll probably just eat the loss. I think I'm out of about $200 total when you count the caliper bolts and all the brake wear sensors. Overall good experience.
