Product Information

The A/C Compressor is the heart of the air conditioning system. It serves the function of compressing and distributing refrigerant throughout the a/c system. The a/c compressor also has a clutch that engages the a/c compressor when in use and disengages when not in use. There are a few failure points on the a/c compressor. The o-rings from the a/c lines leading in and out of the compressor can leak oil and refrigerant, the compressor clutch can stop working, and low oil can cause the internal components of the compressor to wear out faster. If any of the symptoms listed are present it's likely the a/c compressor needs to be replaced. Proper diagnosis is needed to identify if the a/c compressor has failed or if another part of the a/c system is the culprit for the compressor not working.

We've created this kit to include new mounting hardware for a complete installation. Inspect the serpentine belt when servicing the a/c compressor and replace it if it's worn and shows signs of cracking.
