OEM replacement ignition coil, does not include spark plug connector

Your BMW's direct ignition coils create and transfer power to the spark plug. With high mileage, it is not uncommon for direct ignition coils to begin to fail. Usually, failed ignition coils will cause cylinder misfire codes. A failed ignition coil will cause a dead cylinder. While these coils can be replaced individually we believe that it is worthwhile to replace all of the ignition coils at once to ensure a long service life and proper performance from your BMW's ignition system.

Ignition Coil

Direct ignition coils are located directly over the top of the spark plug. In this ignition setup there is one ignition coil per spark plug and there are no spark plug wires. This ignition setup is often referred to as a coil on plug ignition system.

Coil on plug or direct ignition systems are pretty much used on all modern cars due to packaging, performance, emissions, and maintenance reasons. This ignition system is essentially maintenance free with the exception of spark plug replacements and the occasional coil replacement when compared to a traditional ignition system.

Good price, good product. It solved a misfire SES code, and overall the powerband is stronger.

not a good item. Circuit to #2 sparkie defective and it took forever to work out. Please check the replacement before posting.
