Keep your Mini Cooper's cooling system up to par with a brand new water pump

Water pumps are a common replacement item on high mileage Mini's. Water pumps essentially push and pull coolant through the cooling system. Over time the bearing inside the water pump can fail or the impeller can break causing numerous cooling system performance issues.

Engine Water Pump

Your vehicles engine water pump is responsible for keeping coolant flowing through the engine. As water pumps get old the internal bearing can go bad causing noise and a coolant leak. A good indicator that your water pump is failing is if you see coolant leaking through the water pump "weep hole".

Engine Water Pump Failure Symptoms
  • Coolant leak through weep hole
  • Play at water pump pulley shaft indicating a bad bearing
  • Squeaking noise coming from pump at idle
  • Overheating conditions
  • Low coolant light on instrument cluster indicating a cooling system leak

MINI Water Pump
It bothers me that the description on the website makes no mention that this is a "remanufactured" water pump and lists it specifically as a "brand new" water pump and what I received was a "remanufactured" pump. This needs to be corrected. Otherwise fit and finish was perfect.
