An exterior door handle is the outside-mounted handle or lever used to open a vehicle’s door from the outside. It connects to the door latch mechanism via rods or cables, allowing the latch to release when pulled.

Exterior Door Handle Failure Symptoms
  • Handle feels loose or wobbly – Worn mounting points or broken internal components.
  • Handle moves but door won’t open – Broken linkage or disconnected rods/cables inside the door.
