A windshield wiper motor is an electric motor that powers the movement of the wiper arms and blades across the windshield. Through a series of linkages and gears, it converts electrical energy into mechanical motion, enabling the blades to clear rain, snow, and debris to maintain driver visibility. The motor typically operates at multiple speeds and may also support intermittent wiping and washer functions, making it an essential safety component for driving in adverse weather conditions.

Wiper Motor Failure Symptoms
  • Wipers fail to operate at all, or stop mid-swipe.
  • Sluggish or uneven wiper movement that struggles to clear the windshield.
  • Grinding, clicking, or buzzing noises coming from the motor during operation.
