Product Information

Suspension Strut Assembly Kit

A shock absorber kit is a set of replacement components designed to restore a vehicle's suspension system. It typically includes shock absorbers along with essential parts like mounting hardware and seals. These components work together to dampen the suspension by controlling the rebounding motion of the springs. Signs of a failing shock absorber include a bouncy ride, excessive body roll during cornering, nose-diving when braking, uneven tire wear, and sometimes visible fluid leaks from the shock.

Suspension Strut Assembly Kit Failure Symptoms
  • Bouncy ride: The most noticeable sign, where the car continues to bounce excessively after hitting a bump
  • Nose dive when braking: The front end of the car dips significantly when applying the brakes
  • Excessive body roll in corners: The car leans excessively when turning, feeling unstable
  • Uneven tire wear: Irregular wear patterns on the tires, often with cupping or scalloping due to inconsistent contact with the road

About Sachs

ZF Sachs AG, also known as Fichtel & Sachs was founded in Schweinfurt in 1895 and was a well-known German family business. At its last point as an independent company, the company name was Fichtel & Sachs AG. In 1997, the automotive supplier was taken over by Mannesmann and renamed Mannesmann Sachs AG. As of 2001, Sachs belonged to ZF Friedrichshafen as a subsidiary company ZF Sachs AG. In 2011, ZF Sachs, like other Group subsidiaries, was legally merged with ZF Friedrichshafen AG and the independent business units integrated into the ZF divisions. Sachs has since become a brand of ZF Friedrichshafen AG.

Sachs is a trusted brand of the ZF family, which includes Lemforder, TRW, Boge, Stabilus, ZF parts and Sachs Performance. All divisions are well respected within their automotive specialty as they are all OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) to car brands like Audi, Porsche, BMW, Volvo and more. Sachs specializes in shock absorbers, struts and clutches, with FCP Euro stocking many solutions based on your needs, be it an OE replacement or a higher performance clutch, shock or strut. All Sachs parts are built to meet or exceed the OEM specifications, this provides confidence and value when choosing Sachs over a Genuine part.

You forget how nice your car should ride!
Replaced the front struts with this kit- I had forgotten how smooth and perfect the car could ride. The old units were absolutely toast, no dampening or support. Overall a very easy swap, but do not mess around with the springs- they could cause some damage. The only problem with the whole process was trying to find a 16mm bent box wrench to tighten the top nut while holding the piston shaft, Get a cheap 16mm socket and clamp it down w/ a vice-grip so you can put a hex wrench down the middle to tighten everything-

exact same part
Original equipment that comes with new hardware except for the 4 bolts. Mercedes has updated the bolts so check that you are using the new ones with a larger flange. The nuts are locking but not OEM that come with struts. Most orders arrive ahead of schedule.

All included parts are oem quality
This kit is great, and decently priced, but some of the hardware isn't needed. The only down side of this kit is that it does NOT include mounts for some reason. There are bump stops and bearings, but no mounts. I had to buy mounts locally at the last minute.

Questions & Answers

Question Posted by Robert
Very confusing that your page for this part calls out the C300 4Matic Sport Sedan, and then calls out just below the Standard Suspension. Well, the Sport Sedan came with Sport Suspension. There was no standard suspension option for the Sport Sedan... what makes it the Sport Sedan is the Sport suspension. This leaves me wondering whether I should buy this, as I have a 2011 C300 4Matic Sport Sedan. I do not want the standard suspension. This would cause an unnecessary return.
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
I see, this is using the part type to get it the strange looking part type name in the fitment section. Apologies for the confusion here, and the way the application is writen out. I will have it updated as soon as possible.
