Product Information

Please Note: You must adjust the ring under the spring perch to obtain correct ride height (match to existing ones).

Suspension Strut Assembly

If your ride feels a little bouncy or you can feel clunks in the suspension while it's going over bumps it is likely due to worn strut assemblies and shock absorbers. The purpose of the strut assembly is it acts as a central pivot point for the suspension while housing the coil spring. It also dampens the compression and rebound of the coil spring as the suspension moves up and down. When replacing suspension components it is highly recommended to replace them in pairs.

Suspension Strut Assembly Failure Symptoms
  • Noise over bumps
  • Abnormal tire wear
  • Vehicle wandering while driving
  • Poor Steering response
  • Poor Handling
  • Harsh ride

About Sachs

ZF Sachs AG, also known as Fichtel & Sachs was founded in Schweinfurt in 1895 and was a well-known German family business. At its last point as an independent company, the company name was Fichtel & Sachs AG. In 1997, the automotive supplier was taken over by Mannesmann and renamed Mannesmann Sachs AG. As of 2001, Sachs belonged to ZF Friedrichshafen as a subsidiary company ZF Sachs AG. In 2011, ZF Sachs, like other Group subsidiaries, was legally merged with ZF Friedrichshafen AG and the independent business units integrated into the ZF divisions. Sachs has since become a brand of ZF Friedrichshafen AG.

Sachs is a trusted brand of the ZF family, which includes Lemforder, TRW, Boge, Stabilus, ZF parts and Sachs Performance. All divisions are well respected within their automotive specialty as they are all OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) to car brands like Audi, Porsche, BMW, Volvo and more. Sachs specializes in shock absorbers, struts and clutches, with FCP Euro stocking many solutions based on your needs, be it an OE replacement or a higher performance clutch, shock or strut. All Sachs parts are built to meet or exceed the OEM specifications, this provides confidence and value when choosing Sachs over a Genuine part.

Check Ride Height
Excellent struts. Good ride. Make sure to adjust ring under spring perch to obtain correct ride height (match to existing ones). Mine came out of box with 1 3/4" difference from my old ones before adjustment.

Questions & Answers

Ask a question
Question Posted by Camillus
Can you verify and provide documentation on the question asked previously regarding tge spring perch adjustment ability. I have the same issue after installation.
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
The documentation provided from the manufacturer simply states "Sachs brand is an adjustable ride height strut and requires the installer to first measure the height of the lower spring plate to the lower mounting hole before disassembly. Then simply moving the circlip located under the lower spring perch of the new strut to one of 11 different ride height settings for the perfect match.". These should be matched to the height setting on the strut installed on the vehicle.
Question Posted by Alberto
Good morning, it is not specified if this is a pair or if I need to buy two struts. Can you verify the information? Thank you.
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
This listing includes a single strut.
Question Posted by Graham
Is the height of the spring perch on this shock adjustable? My car rides considerably higher (about 2") after using this product and I am trying to figure out the issue.
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
These typically have a 3 position spring perch
