Power Steering Pump

Power steering pumps pressurize the fluid in the steering hydraulic system to allow for steering assist at slow road speeds. The power steering system is powered by the engine via a serpentine or v belt which spins the pump pulley. Power steering pumps are generally a lifetime component.

However, poor power steering system maintenance, old power steering fluid, and incorrect power steering fluid can cause the pump to fail prematurely. If your power steering pump is screaming or chirping when you are turning the wheels you may need to replace it.

Will this fit my 95 S500? My original part number is 140 460 07 80. My unit is also a tandem pump, but I got rid of the self leveling feature with an after market air suspension. Vin # WDBGA51E8SA215267

Yes, this is the correct tandem-style replacement pump for your 1995 S500 when your original pump is 140 460 07 80. Since your self-leveling suspension has been removed, this pump still has the original tandem/SLS hydraulic circuit, so the deleted SLS side must already be properly handled by your aftermarket air suspension conversion; this is not a steering-only conversion pump.

Will this fit my 1993 mercedes-benz 500SEL WITH Self-Leveling suspension, my vin number is: “WDBGA51E5PA104960” and the pump that is in it now is leaking and the information I read from the old leaking pump which is ZF is this: ZF logo and then : 8693 955 501-50 mercedes logo (I think…) and then: A 140 450 07 80/(or a 7)0080 next line says : K000116 02. 17 next line says: 143/125
