Power Steering Pressure Hose

The power steering pressure hose is a high-pressure line that connects the power steering pump to the steering gear or rack. It carries pressurized power steering fluid from the pump to the steering mechanism, allowing for easier steering by amplifying the force exerted by the driver on the steering wheel.

Power Steering Pressure Hose Failure Symptoms
  • Fluid Leaks: A common sign of failure is visible leaking of power steering fluid around the pressure hose or its connections. This can appear as puddles or wet spots under the vehicle
  • Increased Steering Effort: If the pressure hose is damaged or obstructed, it may result in reduced fluid flow to the steering gear, making it more difficult to turn the steering wheel
  • Unusual Noises: Whining, groaning, or hissing sounds may occur when turning the steering wheel, indicating air in the system due to a leak or that the pump is working harder than usual

Hello~ I recently got this part from FCP EURO through a friend. He bought it for me with his account. I had it installed on my vehicle today and found out that the hose was longer than the original and also that the fitment had to be reversed. The ends were the opposite of the original. I still was able to install it but wanted to know if this was the case.
