An Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve is an emissions control component that recirculates a portion of the engine’s exhaust gases back into the intake manifold. By mixing exhaust with the air-fuel charge, it lowers combustion temperatures, reducing the formation of harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) and improving efficiency under certain conditions.
