Mercedes Drop in Air Filter - K&N 33-2678

Product Information

An engine air filter is a critical component of a vehicle's intake system, allowing clean fresh outside air to enter the combustion chamber and prevent dust, dirt, and other contaminants from entering the engine. Your engine's air filter sits within the air intake box and traps particles as air flows into the engine. This ensures that only clean air reaches the combustion chamber, which provides optimal engine performance and fuel efficiency and reduces emissions.

• Clogging: Over time, your air filter can become clogged with dirt, dust, and debris, reducing the amount of fresh air that reaches the engine. This can lead to poor engine performance, reduced fuel efficiency, and increased emissions.
• Moisture Contamination: Exposure to excessive moisture, whether from driving in heavy rain or through water, can cause the air filter to become saturated. A wet filter can restrict airflow, further deteriorate over time, and lead to potential engine damage.
• Age: Over time, the materials in the air filter can degrade, losing their ability to filter out contaminants effectively. An old air filter may become brittle and prone to tearing. It is recommended to inspect your engine air filter every 15 - 30,000 miles
• Decreased Fuel Efficiency: When the air filter is blocked, the engine struggles to get the proper air-fuel mixture, causing it to burn more fuel to compensate, resulting in reduced fuel efficiency and reduced performance
• Misfire: Inadequate airflow can lead to incomplete combustion, causing the engine to misfire, which might cause hesitation or weak power build-up under load.

About KN

K&N was founded by Ken Johnson and Norm McDonald thus the name, K&N. Since inventing the K&N resuable high flow cotton air filter in 1969, K&N has been the worlds leading manufacturer of washable performance air filters and air intake systems. K&N air filters demonstrated great performance and durability, and manufacturing these air filters soon became the primary focus of the company. The company grew steadily and expanded product lines. In the late 1980's K&N invented the concept of a bolt-on performance air intake kit to replace the factory airbox and air filter. Located in Riverside, California, K&N is a world class filtration company selling air filters, oil filters, and air intakes in over 30 countries. K&N sells over 5,000 products designed for cars, trucks, motorcycles, engines, and industrial applications. To this day they satnd behind their mission statement to "Seek out and dominate traditional, modern and yet undiscovered markets for high performance, high quality, long life filtration and air management products.
