Product Information

Hose/lines can become brittle over time leading to leakage, or worse yet complete failure. Be sure to make it part of your oil change routine to check the condition of hoses, belts and fluids as part of preventative maintenance.

Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Hose

An Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Hose is a component in vehicles with automatic transmissions that transports transmission fluid between the transmission and the transmission cooler, often located near the radiator. This hose helps keep the transmission fluid cool by circulating it through the cooler, which is essential for maintaining optimal transmission temperature, preventing overheating, and ensuring smooth shifting and transmission longevity.

Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Hose Failure Symptoms
  • Transmission Fluid Leaks: A damaged or worn hose can leak transmission fluid, which may appear as red or brownish spots under the vehicle, particularly near the front
  • Low Transmission Fluid Levels: If there is a leak, the fluid level will drop, causing performance issues such as rough or delayed shifting and even overheating
  • Transmission Overheating: The cooler hose keeps fluid temperatures down, so a faulty or blocked hose can lead to overheating, which may trigger a warning light on the dashboard

About Rein

Founded in 2007, CRP Automotive introduced the Rein Automotive line of OE-quality replacement parts to the aftermarket. And in just two short years, Rein Automotive has become very popular among both warehouse distributors and professional repair technicians. Rein is the German word for “pure”, and has come to be synonymous with quality in the automotive aftermarket. A true dealer alternative.

The Rein brand includes a growing number of “better than OE” parts for selected applications. These parts address known weaknesses and premature failures of factory parts. Many of these replacement and service solutions have been developed with the help of our Innovation Council, a hand-picked group of experienced professional repair technicians and shop owners throughout North America.

All Rein Automotive OE-quality parts are backed by the CRP Automotive standard, and are backed with a ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certification. Each year, CRP Automotive ships thousands of Rein Automotive brand products. And with widespread NAFTA market distribution through strategically placed warehouses in Cranbury, New Jersey and Puebla, Mexico - OE-quality products like Rein Automotive are delivered to customers both faster and more cost-effectively than ever before.

In 2017 Rein partnered with FCP Euro in competing a W204 C300 AER car for the 2017 season. The partnership focused FCP Euro to dive deep into the Rein catalog offering, and hundreds of new products were added and integrated into our catalog. Hundreds of new packages were created not only using the full part pine up of Rein products, but also the entire family of CRP products like Pentosin.

Rein is also an innovative brand, winning numerous trade awards — including multiple new product innovation awards at the annual AAPEX trade show.

Trans Cooler Lines
W163 2004 ML350 191K when replaced. OEM Rein lines were a direct fit replacement. No problems there. As other review stated the crush washers were a off a bit. ID was a it larger so I was concerned about the fit when they would crimp down. But I centered them to ensure there was enough material in the line area where the seal was needed. Worked and only one of the three needed to be cranked down a bit more to achieve good seal. The male connection to the lower radiator female connection was a bit shorter than the original line. Once I reconnected the line it took a bit to get the male threads seated and torqued down. Once there though no leaks and was good to go.
