Product Information

A commonly overlooked cause of air mixture and adaptation faults on M272 and M273 engines is damage to the rear airbox seal where it attaches to the mass airflow sensor. A damaged seal typically causes a rich or lean mixture on both banks as a result of the engine computer correcting for a false airflow measurement. We recommend inspecting the integrity of the seal whenever the engine airbox is removed or if mixture faults occur.
