If you are replacing your BMW's windshield you will also need to replace the sealing gaskets/mouldings. This Genuine replacement from BMW will offer the same performance and function as the original.
A windshield seal is the rubber or urethane material that secures the windshield to the vehicle body, keeping out water, air, and debris while also reducing wind noise and helping maintain structural integrity. Over time, exposure to sun, weather, and vibration can cause the seal to deteriorate.
Windshield Seal Failure Symptoms- Water or air leaks – moisture intrusion or whistling wind noise at speed.
- Visible wear – cracking, shrinking, or separation of the seal.
- Compromised safety – loose or poorly secured windshield, sometimes with interior fogging from trapped moisture.

Worked out wonderfully. Quality OEM replacement part and easy to change.
I have a 2005 BMW E60 530i, Alpine White. The car is in excellent condition (only 86K on the clock), but the front and rear window moldings were completely dry-rotted and needed to be replaced. This genuine BMW part was perfect and was super easy to install. The entire process took less than 30 minutes, thanks to the FCPEuro installation video that is also available. Thanks to the FCP team for providing quality BMW parts and for excellent support.
I ordered this upper molding to replace my old cracked seal after replacing it made my car look 10x better, which was a perfect fit and easy to install. High-quality part, no issue!
Installation was very easy. Total time was less than 1 hour and that would have been 30 minutes but my neighbor always comes out to chat while I work on my cars. The part is cut to fit for length. The old molding came out very easily with small plastic pry tools. No extra adhesive is needed. There is a small bead of adhesive that seals where it meets the windshield and it has tape where it meets the roof. Biggest issue was cleaning the area between the metal of the roof and the windshield. I used starting fluid first then goo gone and a rag. Even used a few q-tips as well. It was a sunny day and 88 degrees and that seemed to help make everything pliable. I started on one end and then the other and then just worked from the middle out to both ends. Finished results is it looks exactly like it did when new. No way to tell it's been replaced. Note to FCP. Extra shipping was charged for oversized item but the molding was folded into a normal size box. I thought it was ruined at first but was able to straighten with no trouble. So either drop the extra shipping charge or review with shipping dept on how to ship without folding it.
Perfect fit
I got this for my 525xi. It's a perfect factory replacement. The install can be a little tricky but if you use some window cleaner (I used some off brand windex I had) as lubrication it really makes it a 10 minute job. I had some issues with the ends but I used the handle of a plier I have to knead it in by dragging and applying pressure to the molding towards the edge of the window (use the windex to avoid damage by rubbing). It looks clean.
Quality OEM product from BMW and seemed to be an easy install, however, for a 2004 E60, this was difficult. Production date was around 6/2004 for those wondering.
Finally changed this part, not hard to do I stayed a tiny amount of silicone on the opposite side of the adhesive and it slipped right in. Made a big difference in appearance
I tried to do this on a cool day (57F) and it was very difficult. I only managed to get it aligned thanks to the use of a heat gun.
Went on easily after removing and cleaning the old molding, perfect fit. Improves the appearance of the car.

This fit my 2007 525 exactly. It wasn't hard to do. The old one pulled off fairly easy. I cleaned the area and stuck on the new one. I used a plastic pry tool to help.
Replaced my old crumbling seals and made my car look much better. Super easy to remove the old seal and put in this new one. 5 min job by yourself. Cheap and easy way to make your car look a little newer.

Premature failure of the rubber window seals for both the front and rear glass seems to be a common issue with the E60’s. The deterioration of the rubber can leave you with only the metal spine between the windshield and roof, as was the case for myself. Replacing the part is well worth it not only from an aesthetic point of view, but also to reduce wind noise and possible water leaks caused by a bad seal. My only recommendation would be to do this repair with two people. Sure, you can do it alone, but it is tricky to align both ends properly while running circles around the car. As I found out from my first attempt, If the rubber is not perfectly aligned on one side, it will end up popping up and becoming even more of an eye sore.

A relatively simple removal and installation when done in warmer weather or with heated parts. Make sure you center properly prior to beginning installation.

So easy to install, came in excellent packaging, hardest part was cleaning the gunk from old seal, thanks FCP for saving me money.
Another easy job. After prying out the old seal with a plastic putty knife (5 minutes). I spent some quality time with a clean rag and some bug and tar remover to really clean up the surrounding glass and body work, another 5 minutes. And a few more minutes installing the new trim piece. Note: get someone to hold one end in place, and then while holding the other end in place, start pressing the seal onto the windshield from the middle and work your way to the ends. When the seal is in place, work across it and push it home onto the windshield. Then look across the trim and glass to make sure that it's all aligned. Straighten out any wobbles and then carefully remove the adhesive backing. Now go over it again pressing the adhesive to the car body. That's it, you're done.
If the rubber above your windshield is crumbling away in the summer heat or winter chill, this will be the best 10 minutes you'll spend on your vehicle. I used a plastic scraper on the window to remove the residue, washed the area dried in and installed.
No leaks and it looks a lot better.

This p/n is for the top of the windshield only. The other pieces are not "required" but is always good practice to replace them as the integrity of the other seals may be affected.

Yes, the rear windows generally have a molding. However, it would be listed as a "back glass seal" vs "windshield seal". For the years and models listed in this application guide the matching back glass seal is p/n 51317027916.
