BMW Wheel Bolt With Code (Code 31) - Genuine BMW 36131181271

Product Information

A Wheel Lug Bolt is a fastener used to secure a vehicle's wheel to the hub. These bolts are essential for holding the wheel in place, ensuring that it remains attached while the vehicle is in motion. Lug bolts are commonly found in vehicles with a bolt-on wheel design and vary in size and threading depending on the vehicle's make and model.

European vehicles will have varying specs for wheel lug bolts depending on the specs of the factory or aftermarket wheels. It is important to understand the taper differences and what is needed to properly secure the wheel to the hub assembly.

• Loose or Wobbly Wheel: If a lug bolt is damaged or has not been properly tightened, it can lead to a loose or wobbly wheel. This symptom is particularly dangerous, as it can affect vehicle handling and stability
• Visible Damage or Deformation: Inspecting the lug bolts may reveal visible signs of damage, such as stripped threads, bending, or cracking. Damaged bolts should be replaced immediately to ensure safety
• Wheel Vibration: If one or more lug bolts are failing, it can cause the wheel to vibrate while driving, especially at higher speeds. This vibration can lead to increased wear on suspension components and potentially dangerous driving conditions

About Genuine BMW

The original parts used by BMW to build your car are available as replacement parts under the “Genuine BMW” brand. When ordering a Genuine BMW part you are guaranteed to get the same part that you would pick up from your local dealerships part department. Genuine BMW parts have been built to BMW’s stringent standards and are the same quality of the original parts used to build your Ultimate Driving Machine.

You may not realize this, but the parts that make up your BMW are not necessarily manufactured by BMW. No cause for concern, as BMW designs the part, hires a manufacturer, and ensures its quality to you. In fact, many of these manufacturers have been making parts for BMW for decades. In our industry these manufacturers are called OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers), and these are often brands you recognize, including Lemforder, ZF, Sachs, Bosch, Valeo, Zimmermann, Siemens VDO, Corteco, and more. Don’t be surprised to open that Genuine BMW parts box and find an OEM branded part inside, simply with the addition of a BMW logo.

Be sure to keep an eye out for OE tags on our product pages to quickly identify parts coming direct from OE manufacturers. That extra bit of insight could save you some serious money while shopping! Refer to our OE Academy for further information regarding the OE/OEM tags throughout the site.
