Product Information

Includes all OE parts including water pump, thermostat, water pump screws, and one gallon of Genuine BMW coolant, for E70 X5 models with Adaptive Drive or 4-Zone Climate Control

This convenient kit was put together to replace your electric water pump and thermostat with items needed for a complete install. The OEM parts in this kit reduce risk of part failure and also guarantees that the parts will install/function perfectly just like the original. The proper operation of your thermostat and water pump is vital to keep your engine running cool and efficient.

Please note: The cooling system bleed procedure is slightly different as it's a "self-bleeding system". In order to start the self bleeding procedure FCP first recommends hooking the battery up to a battery charger as the process will take 12 minutes to complete. Switch the ignition on but do not start the car. Set heater to maximum temperature and turn blower speed to lowest setting. Press accelerator pedal for 10 seconds to the floor (the engine must not be started). The bleeding procedure will start after 10 seconds. To confirm you should be able to hear the electric water pump. After 12 minutes the water pump will turn off and the bleeding procedure is complete. Top up reservoir if low.

Engine Water Pump Kit

An engine water pump is a crucial component of a vehicle's cooling system. It circulates coolant (a mix of antifreeze and water) from the radiator through the engine and back to the radiator to prevent the engine from overheating. The pump is typically driven by the engine via a belt, chain, or gear. A water pump's key functions are to maintain a consistent flow of coolant through the engine block, cylinder heads, and radiator and regulate engine temperature to prevent overheating or freezing in extreme conditions.

buyer beware

Genuine BMW parts have been built to BMW’s stringent standards and are the same quality of the original parts used to build your Ultimate Driving Machine." I am pretty sure my local parts department (or the 70 million square foot BMW assembly plant down the road) doesn't use an assortment of the large (and apparently easily broken) amazon style bubble mailers to cushion water pumps (or anything really) inside the parts box. They probably will include the BMW warning on drop sensitivity- in retrospect FCP should have left that out of the parts box. I more or less assumed OEM quality didn't mean improperly packaged open box item. This assumption appears to have been incorrect. The good news is that I should have the answer to the packaging question next week, as without any response from FCP I am likely forced to order from a dealership.

Perfect fit for car and wallet
The OEM BMW parts I needed were sparsely available and VERY expensive. I'm still recovering from sticker shock over the price the dealership wanted for these parts. It was something like half of my 401K and one of my kidneys. My online search lead me to the FCP website. They had the OEM parts I needed in stock and their prices were less then Amazon or Ebay. I honestly couldn't believe it. Plus the company offered Lifetime replacement guarantee on all their parts? I mean who offers that? I knew nothing about this company and I had my reservations but I still decided to place my order with them. I am happy to tell you those parts arrived very quickly but most importantly they were identical to the factory ones I replaced them with. My only warning in this review is that my wife's car is now back out there on the road ;-) Two thumbs up FCP for having the parts I needed and allowing me to keep my Kidney
