I installed the EBC rear pads and rotors on my 2010 Z4. The brakes seem to be functional, but make a grinding noise when applied. Is this normal? Will it go away after more use?

A light scraping or scrubbing sound can be normal while the new EBC pads bed into the new rotors, and EBC notes their pads may take roughly the first 100 miles to fully seat. However, a heavy grinding sound is not something we would consider normal; if the noise is loud, getting worse, or there is vibration, pulling, burning smell, or one rear wheel is getting hotter than the other, stop driving and inspect the pad fitment, anti-rattle hardware, caliper slides, parking brake, dust shield, and rotor contact points before continuing.
