BMW S55 Turbocharger Replacement Kit - 11657849650KT

Turbochargers are a wear item and their lifespan is dependent upon numerous factors. Underboost faults due to worn/loose wastegate, internal leaks causing oil consumption, or journal bearing wear are all reasons needed for replacing turbochargers.

This kit includes two brand-new OE turbochargers with electronic wastegate actuators. The wastegate actuators have been preset from the factory for min and max travel but it's always a good idea to test the actuators before installing, These OE turbos are ideal for stock and lightly modified vehicles.

We sell turbocharger kits with brand-new turbo oil feed and turbo oil return lines. If the failure of the turbos on your car was due to a journal bearing problem you have a lubrication issue which can be due to restriction in the oil feed lines or oil return lines. It is not worth the risk of reusing the oiling lines since it can cause damage to your new turbos. You also have no way of assessing the line condition and it is not worth the risk reusing them.

This kit includes all seals, gaskets, and hardware needed for successfully replacing turbochargers on your S55 powered BMW. Before the first start make sure the engine is primed. You can do this by disconnecting the injector connectors and cranking the engine three times for ten seconds per time. This ensures that oil flow to the turbocharger journal bearings has occurred.

Please note before ordering:

This kit includes the coolant line from the engine block to the turbocharger after-run pump. This coolant line is a mandatory replacement due to its location behind the bank 1 turbocharger assembly. The other coolant lines should be replaced depending on condition but we have omitted them from this kit as they are usually safe to reuse and can be replaced relatively easily when compared to the feed line included in this kit. If you are going to reuse the coolant feed and return lines you will need to add the replacement o-rings to your order which can be added to this kit by clicking here.

This kit is designed for installation without the subframe being lowered (you can remove the right side engine mount + bracket) but if you choose to lower the front subframe to install these turbos you will need a front subframe bolt kit along with all other related hardware which can be added to this kit by clicking here.

If you choose to lower the subframe to do this job be prepared to have an alignment performed after the work is complete.
