Also known as a re-circulation valve or diverter valve, used in the forward location*

This is a stock replacement diverter valve which is ideal for stock BMW's. The purpose of a diverter or bypass valve is to redirect the pressurized intake air on turbocharged engines. This most commonly occurs when the throttle plate closes during a shift or coming off the throttle from wide open throttle. The pressurized air in the intake tract outs excess pressure on the compressor wheel in the turbocharger which can lead to eventual failure.

About VNE

VNE GmbH was founded in 2001 by Volker Natorp in Hamburg, Germany. Volker has a long, storied history in the automotive field. He began his career in the 1970s working for Wulf Gaertner and in the 1990s eventually branched out on his own to start his own sales repping agency. During that time, he represented TMD Friction (Pagid/Textar) and managed all of the North American sales for them and eventually added Schaeffler Automotive to his roster.

In 2007, VNE GmbH relocated to Ganderkesee, Germany and was renamed VNE Automotive GmbH & Co. With continuous growth, the decision was made to solely focus on developing VNE Automotive and, in 2014, the focus became reality with the commissioning of a new warehouse and office space. Easy to install
I purchased this during a serpentine belt installation as a result of moving the radiator from the car. The DIY video i watched did say "be careful when removing, the tiny line that connects here may break" - They were right. This was a pretty easy fix.
