BMW service intervals are done as Service 1 and Service 2 inspections. In these services, your BMW is combed over and inspected. Additionally, fluids are changed as required. However, many DIY enthusiasts don't go by these factory set intervals and want to do even more maintenance.

This service kit features everything you will need to properly service your E36 3-series. It includes all air filters and factory spec spark plugs. In addition to what is included please view our oil section to choose your favorite engine oil to go with this kit.

Ignition Kit

An ignition coil is a vital car component that produces high-voltage electricity to generate a spark at the spark plug, igniting the air-fuel mixture within the engine cylinder. When an ignition coil fails, it can cause engine misfires, rough idling, reduced power, an illuminated check engine light, difficulty starting the engine, and sometimes backfiring. These issues arise from weak or inconsistent sparks produced by the malfunctioning coil.

  • Engine misfires: The most prominent sign, causing the engine to jerk or shudder, especially when accelerating, due to inconsistent combustion in one or more cylinders
  • Rough idling: The engine vibrates or shakes noticeably when idling due to uneven firing of cylinders
  • Decreased engine power: The car may feel sluggish or lack acceleration due to incomplete combustion
