Tie Rod Assembly Kit

Includes 2 Complete Tie Rod Assemblies, Steering Rack Boots & Clamps.

The tie rods of your vehicle play a critical role as they're the link between the power steering rack and pinion and the wheel spindle. Tie rod ends contain ball joints that tend to wear out over time due to constant wear and tear. When the ball joints within the tie rod wear out, it allows for play within the wheels which can throw off your alignment and cause uneven tire wear. Its always encouraged to check your tie rod ends for play as well as tires for uneven wear at every service interval. When replacing worn tie rod ends its always recommend to replace them in pairs as well as to perform an alignment.

Steering Tie Rod Assembly Failure Symptoms

  • Uneven tire wear
  • Play in wheels
  • Pulling condition when driving
  • Sloppy steering

Not as good as before
Doesn't seem like a quality product as it was back in a day. Tie rods got large play after a year of usage.

Missing Clamp Ring / Mexico
Giving 2 stars. I ordered a set to do both sides of my E70. While putting one side together i noticed that the clamp ring was missing from the assembly. Its clearly pictured in the product listing. The other assembly was correctly assembled and had the clamp ring installed. Can only attribute this to a miss in quality control at Lemforder's Mexico factory. Packaging clearly stated that these assemblies came from Mexico. We can all understand that a human on an assembly line can make a mistake, but it is reasonable to expect that a factories quality control people would catch it before it leaves. My opinion is that things are dicey with Lemforder having factories in Turkey, Malaysia, Mexico and other locations as its well reported that issues are showing up in the last 5 years or more. If there was a way for FCP Euro to allow customers to choose products based on country of manufacture / origin that would be outstanding. I will gladly pay a few dollars more to choose product that is produced in countries that I think have a better reputation for quality.

After my X5/E70 was not able to be aligned properly, this kit did job. Very happy with the quality of the parts!
