A shock absorber kit is a set of replacement components designed to restore a vehicle's suspension system. It typically includes shock absorbers along with essential parts like mounting hardware and seals. These components work together to dampen the suspension by controlling the rebounding motion of the springs. Signs of a failing shock absorber include a bouncy ride, excessive body roll during cornering, nose-diving when braking, uneven tire wear, and sometimes visible fluid leaks from the shock.

Hi, I am purchasing the Bilstein B8 / H&R suspension kit (SKU: 35142478KT1) for my 2011 BMW 328xi (VIN: WBAPK7G51BNN70515). I do not see front or rear bump stops included in the kit contents. Since this setup lowers the vehicle, I want to confirm: • Should I use the standard OEM bump stops? • Or are shortened/sport bump stops recommended with B8 dampers and H&R springs? If shortened stops are recommended, could you please provide the correct part numbers for both front and rear? Very respectfully, Marc

In the installation guide, Bilstein does not show the bump stops for the front and rear being used/retained. The bump stop is part of the assembly and is located inside because this is an inverted monotube design.

We apologize for the incorrect description. This kit contains H&R springs as listed below. The difference between this suspension kit and the one you linked is that this kit comes with the additional front strut mount, rear shock mounts, and all additional hardware necessary for a fresh install. The kit you linked, only comes with the front struts, rear shocks, and the coil springs front and rear without the additional hardware; thus reusing your existing parts.
