Product Information

This part fits into original bracket and fits M3 vehicles that have a thicker wishbone. PFF5-5601M3 is a high performance option to PFF5-4601M3, and aimed at offering greater precision for people wanting the very best from their E46 M3. This new part, fitted to the rear of the front wishbone has a hard anodized aluminium outer shell with one of our unique low friction polyurethane center bushings. The poly/aluminum combination creates a low friction rotating bushing reducing the forces acting on the arm. Lower arm deflection has been decreased by reducing the compliant material within the aluminium shell. Results are less movement in the arm under cornering and braking, improving steering control and feel. For the M3 models which have a thicker wishbone. Please ensure you have the correct size bushing before fitting.

Many vehicle’s, while varying in suspension layout, will have control arms with serviceable bushings and/or joints on either end where they meet the undercarriage or spindle of the vehicle.

Suspension Control Arm Bushing Kit Failure Symptoms

As the rubber on these bushings degrades or cracks they will no longer provide a rigid connection and cause problems in handle and ride quality. Often times to save time and cost it is possible to press out the original worn bushing and press in a replacement instead of replacing the complete control arm. Common failure symptoms of faulty control arms bushings include:

  • Poor handling characteristics
  • Loud clunking, metal on metal sounds, suspension buckling
  • Vibration or wobble in the steering wheel
  • Banging sound over bumps

Street Purple - Powerflex Street bushings are purple in color and are meant for street sport applications. Order this compound for daily driven cars and when ultimate performance is not a priority. In some positions, the street compound bushing may also be yellow.

Racing Black - Powerflex Racing bushings are significantly stiffer than their street counterparts, and are designed for vehicles that are driven on race tracks for minimum bushing deflection. Occasionally racing black bushings are denoted for use on street applications in positions where excess load puts significant demand on a bushing and NVH is not effected by the stiffer material.

All component manufacturing is carried out by our in-house engineers utilizing the latest automatic processing equipment to ensure premium quality. Testing of new components is carried out both on test rigs and on the actual vehicle the parts are designed for. Stainless steel and aluminum components are also machined in-house on the latest computer-controlled equipment to ensure perfect repeatability and exceptional quality.
