Product Information

Evolve Automotive has developed these dampers in conjunction with Bilstein UK over a period of 2 years on their BMW i3s. They found the car quite unsettled on undulating roads and wanted to improve primarily the ride comfort and secondary the handling.

Evolve worked with Bilstein on the valving to provide more control, whilst improving the handling characteristics.

These dampers can be used with either OEM springs or any lowering springs on the market. Evolve has also developed their own springs which lower the car 25mm on the i3 and 15mm on the i3s.

If you want just comfort/handling, you can just install the dampers. If you want improved comfort/handling and improved aesthetics, install the dampers with Evolve springs.

Evolve runs these dampers their own demo BMW i3s and the ride and handling characteristics are the best they've tested on this platform.

Suspension Strut and Shock Absorber Assembly Kit

A shock absorber kit is a set of replacement components designed to restore a vehicle's suspension system. It typically includes shock absorbers along with essential parts like mounting hardware and seals. These components work together to dampen the suspension by controlling the rebounding motion of the springs. Signs of a failing shock absorber include a bouncy ride, excessive body roll during cornering, nose-diving when braking, uneven tire wear, and sometimes visible fluid leaks from the shock.

Since this strut & shock is a wear item, is it covered under the FCP warranty? How would we know it is due for replacement and how does FCP suggest to show warranty on this item? For example: 50k miles later if the car is not handling the same the part can be sent to FCP for inspection and if found it needs replacement..the cost to ship to FCP is not covered, but what does the warranty cover on parts cost? FCP sends another strut out, but again shipping to and from FCP is paid for by the customer? Want to be transparent and understand the warranty offered by FCP and how it benefits in lifetime cost for products like this. Thanks for the clarity here on the warranty.

Yes, this strut and shock set is covered under our Lifetime Replacement Guarantee as long as you are the original purchaser and still own the vehicle. When the dampers are worn or no longer performing correctly, you would purchase the same replacement set first, install it, then return the original FCP-purchased set with the completed return form; once received and approved, we issue store credit for the amount paid on the original order. The guarantee covers the replacement part cost, not labor, diagnostics, alignment, duties/taxes, or return shipping back to FCP. Shipping on the replacement order follows our normal shipping policy, while the customer is responsible for getting the used parts back to us.
