Over time the connecting joints wear and cause steering slop whenever turning your vehicle's wheel. Commonly most owners replace the steering coupler that has incorporated rubber bushings, however, this part is often overlooked. Whenever restoring your vehicle's steering assembly, it is recommended to inspect this steering shaft for any unwarranted play and replace it accordingly.

A steering shaft is a crucial part of the steering system that connects the steering wheel to the steering gearbox or rack-and-pinion assembly. It transfers the driver’s input into mechanical movement, allowing the front wheels to turn accurately. Many steering shafts include universal joints or couplings to accommodate movement and alignment between components. A worn or failing steering shaft can compromise handling and safety if not addressed promptly.
