Rack and Pinion Assembly

Power steering racks (rack and pinion) are usually a lifetime component for most cars. However, there are certain scenarios in which a power steering rack can fail and will need to be replaced. We often find that poor maintenance of the system (leaks, old fluid, damaged hoses) can cause premature failure. Part failures within the rack itself are also common. Seals can fail causing leaks and poor system pressure. We also find that worn inner tie rod boots that are damaged can allow for water, dirt, and other contaminants to get inside the rack causing havoc with the power steering system as a whole. If you rack is leaking or making grinding sounds, it will need to be replaced.

Exact factory match high quality part
High quality remanufactured part; identical to the part being replaced including part numbers; arrived with new & stiff inner tie rods and boots; metal pressure line was new; seals are new; included the plastic alignment cap that connects to the steering double joint; packaged very well; protective caps on all threaded parts; quick connect pressure line ports bores were polished; Will be using Redline D4 ATF in this unit after my conversation with Redline Tech support; BMW stopped supplying ATF 2; Redline D4 is as close as it comes to BMW factory match ATF fluid; hopefully the power steering pump will last longer; Regular DEX III available doesn't hold up like D4 from my experience; Old rack was fine but, starting to leak so, had to change it out as there is no seal kit available; Thanks for providing a high quality part FCP.
