Product Information

Part number 35401165393 is a brand new, unused Genuine BMW part. 35401165393 is part of your BMW's pedal assembly. Accelerator pedal modules and their related components are critical in controlling the throttle movements of your BMW's engine. Modern drive by wire systems rely on position sensors to determine the position of this pedal.

Genuine BMW parts are typically sold by BMW dealerships. These parts are used to service your BMW by the service department and they are the same parts that you can order and purchase from your local dealer. Genuine BMW parts are built by other manufacturers and stamped with a BMW logo and short 7 digit part number. When opening a Genuine BMW part package don’t be surprised to find that it has a manufacturer label from Hella, Behr or Bosch. BMW uses numerous leaders in car parts to manufacture their parts but keep in mind that Genuine BMW parts are manufactured to the exact specification demanded by BMW.

About Genuine BMW

The original parts used by BMW to build your car are available as replacement parts under the “Genuine BMW” brand. When ordering a Genuine BMW part you are guaranteed to get the same part that you would pick up from your local dealerships part department. Genuine BMW parts have been built to BMW’s stringent standards and are the same quality of the original parts used to build your Ultimate Driving Machine.

You may not realize this, but the parts that make up your BMW are not necessarily manufactured by BMW. No cause for concern, as BMW designs the part, hires a manufacturer, and ensures its quality to you. In fact, many of these manufacturers have been making parts for BMW for decades. In our industry these manufacturers are called OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers), and these are often brands you recognize, including Lemforder, ZF, Sachs, Bosch, Valeo, Zimmermann, Siemens VDO, Corteco, and more. Don’t be surprised to open that Genuine BMW parts box and find an OEM branded part inside, simply with the addition of a BMW logo.

Be sure to keep an eye out for OE tags on our product pages to quickly identify parts coming direct from OE manufacturers. That extra bit of insight could save you some serious money while shopping! Refer to our OE Academy for further information regarding the OE/OEM tags throughout the site.

Great addition to throttle cables
I purchased these because the last shop that I took it to used safety wire to accomplish the same thing. These look FAR more clean and purposeful. Don't forget to purchase 2 if you're running cruise control. Great add-on!

So it seems like a bunch of money for what looks like a bent paperclip, but it is absolutely the right part to keep your throttle cable and/or cruise control cable from detaching itself and holding the throttle open. Dinging one star for BMW USA pricing it pretty high.
