WARNING: Proposition 65 information
Suspension Shock Absorber

If your suspension is feeling "bouncy" or "loose" it can likely be attributed to blown or worn shock absorbers. The purpose of shock absorbers is to dampen the recoil of the coil spring as your travel over dips and bumps in the road.

Suspension Shock Absorber Failure Symptoms
  • Noise over bumps
  • Squeaks
  • Leaks
  • Poor Handling
  • Harsh ride

Questions & Answers

Ask a question
Question Posted by James
Is there a shock for my 1998 BMW Z3 2.8 that's for street use but higher performance than stock, that's designed for use with standard springs? The Bilstein and Koni sport shocks both say they're designed for lowered springs. The touring versions say they're equal to the OEM performance. I want better than OEM performance but don't want to lower my suspension.
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Despite being an OE-style replacement, the Touring series are built with Bilstein's engineering and quality, often featuring a twin-tube design and are typically valved about 10% firmer than stock, providing quicker response and better damping than a worn set of factory shocks, eliminating issues like front end hop. We do not currently offer something in-between these two for your chassis.
