Original equipment shift lever for Z3M models, commonly used as a retrofit in E36 models which reduces the throw by 33%

This is the original equipment shifter for the M Roadster and M Coupe, but may be swapped into an 1996 to 1999 E36 shifter assembly for approximately 33% reduction in shifter throw.

shortest shifter I could find
This is the shortest throw shifter I could find, and it sits fairly low. I actually installed it in 2004 x5 6 speed manual. It required some bending of the rod to mimic the angle of the original. BMW is gouging people with the price, this should be no more than $60 in my opinion. I got it before BMW jacked up the price.

Great short shifter for E36 M3, but you must bend it!!!
This is the OEM part that is used in the popular understeer.com short shifter kit (SSK). However, you will need to bend it to properly sit in the right location in an E36 M3. If unsure how to bend, do a search on it. Also highly recommend the delrin shift bushings to go with this.
