Brand new axle shaft assembly from OEM Supplier GKN Loebro
Axles can fail for a variety of reasons. After countless of thousands of miles and years exposed to the elements; axle boots tear and CV joints become weak. If your axle CV boots are torn and leaking you may have to replace the entire axle assembly.
The CV (Constant Velocity) axle assembly is responsible for transferring torque and rotational power from the transmission to the wheels while allowing for suspension movement and steering articulation. The CV axle consists of a shaft with joints at both ends: a CV joint that connects the axle to the transmission and another CV joint that connects the axle to the wheel hub. This design allows the axle to handle changes in angle and length as the vehicle moves, especially when turning or going over bumps.
CV Axle Assembly Failure Symptoms- Clicking or Popping Noises: One of the most common signs of a failing CV axle is a clicking or popping noise when turning the vehicle. This noise typically occurs when the CV joint is damaged or worn out, especially during sharp turns.
- Vibration While Driving: A failing CV axle can cause noticeable vibrations while driving, especially at higher speeds. This vibration may indicate that the axle is bent, or damaged, or that the CV joints are worn out.
- Grease Leaks: If the CV axle boot tears or cracks, grease can leak out. You may notice grease on the inside of the wheel or around the CV joint. This can lead to increased wear on the joint due to a lack of lubrication.

It fits quite well for non-OE drive axles, looks exactly like the old one. Just a little thinner
The one I received did not look like the picture. It looked exactly like the original axel that I pulled out except it has a different tone ring design for the ABS sensor pickup. Same weight and fit perfectly. I would recommend.

This will work for your RWD 328i. The gear ratio may be different, but the rear axles are the same.

No, this does not come with a wheel bearing. The wheel bearing is pressed into the wheel carrier/suspension knuckle and is a completely separate part.

Not following your question/concern. This is cataloged as a right side axle shaft assembly (it's position installed on the vehicle). The picture is in fact representative of what this axle looks like. The left side axle (p/n 33217547073) is 630mm long while the right side axle (p/n 33217547074) is 670mm long. Comparing both images currently on the site you can see that the left side axle is shorter than the right side axle which is correct as the differential is offset due to the ring gear (the vehicles in question do not use equal length axles). Does this rear right GKN axle have a pressed-on reluctor ring or is it "molded on"? The picture depicts a pressed reluctor ring. I was sent a molded reluctor ring axle shaft when I ordered. I was told that this is now the only shaft available. Please advs
