A back glass seal is a rubber or weatherstripping component that surrounds the rear windshield (back glass) of a vehicle. Its primary role is to create a watertight and airtight barrier between the glass and the vehicle body, preventing leaks, wind noise, and dust intrusion. In addition to protecting the interior, a properly fitted seal also helps secure the glass in place and contributes to the vehicle’s overall structural integrity.
