NOTE: The E46 has officially been declared a classic vehicle per BMW directly. With that being said, BMW has been consolidating all of the variants of this part into one mold using a single tip exhaust cutout ONLY and will need to be cut accordingly to fit the dual tip exhaust if present; This has been seen with E39 5 series windshield cowls.

What does this mean? Normally, the US spec ZHP rear bumper diffusor is pre-cut out for dual-tip exhausts. This same ZHP rear diffusor is created from a mold for EU market E46s, with the sports package using single-tip exhausts. In the EU, the sports package M-Tech II kit can be fitted to a base 320i that uses a SINGLE tip exhaust, all the way to a 330i with dual tips. In the past, BMW pre-cut this part for dual-tip or left it alone for single-tip exhausts. However, BMW has determined that if you own a US spec ZHP or a EU spec vehicle with dual tip exhaust, it is up to the user to cut the partition out accordingly, as BMW will only be making ONE mold from now on. There may be new old stock that features the dual-tip pre-cut; however, once all of BMW's inventory is cleared, it will be ONE mold for the single-tip exhaust cut out ONLY and will require modification to fit dual-tip exhausts.
