Product Information

A common failure item of most BMW cooling systems

Your BMW's radiator is an integral, and arguably, the most important part of the cooling system. It is designed to expel heat from the coolant via the small fins. Most radiators fail when the end tanks crank causing leaks, but higher mileage radiators which have missing fins or are clogged up with debris can also cause overheat issues as the radiator cannot expel heat effectively. If your BMW's radiator is in rough shape we recommend replacing it. We also highly recommend replacing the upper and lower radiator hose.

Its critical to replace coolant with OE approved Coolant/Antifreeze otherwise the radiator can crack or fail prematurely. The anti-corrosive formula will help to protect against rust and has an extended life compared to some aftermarket options. The coolant system in your BMW protects your engine against excessive heat which can lead to added wear or engine failure in extreme cases. Protect the engine in your BMW with Genuine BMW coolant (1 Gal).

About Mahle Behr

Mahle Behr GmbH & Co. KG is a German corporation active in the automobile industry, headquartered in Stuttgart-Feuerbach. It is a specialist for automotive air conditioning and engine cooling systems. Mahle began in 1920 when pistons made of heavy gray cast iron were being used in internal combustion engines for automobiles and there was a need for a new design. The Mahle brothers countered this trend by producing light-alloy pistons at their small, newly established company however the technology was still finicky and problems come up frequently. They soon determined that they needed to come up with a solution to keep dirt and dust out of the engine so they eventually developed air and oil filters as well. Their perseverance paid off and the light-alloy pistons began to take over the market. Today, half of all automobiles produced worldwide contain MAHLE components. MAHLE offers an extensive range of parts for everyone including pistons, cylinder liners, piston ring sets, bearings, assemblies, valves, valve train components, and air, oil, fuel, and cabin air filters. Their catalog and online database of aftermarket engine components is an indispensable reference. In early 2016, Stuttgart-based MAHLE GmbH increased its holding in the Behr Group from 36.85 percent to approximately 51 percent with the acquisition of all shares in the BWK GmbH holding company. The company now goes by Mahle-Behr.

Great radiator
Bought this radiator for my 97 528i. Had it on for about a year now and it still works flawlessly. Also comes with a lifetime warranty. Behr products are a great brand when it comes to cooling system parts.

BMW Radiator
Radiator was exact fit and core width (1.75 inches) as the original one, beware of others selling replacements that are only 1.25 inches for core thickness, as FCP Euro states ( if they won't use it in their vehicles they won't sell it) there is a reason.

no problems
Everyone knows E39s have coolant issues and this radiator does great. I replaced the whole system out including Clutch fan and pulley, and it runs perfect temp. I'll be switching to Electric fan in Spring. And Lifetime warranty you can't beat it.
