Radiator Fits But...

I ordered this as a replacement for a radiator that sprung a leak. It arrived and I installed it in the car with new upper and lower hoses. The lower hose leaked at the barb. I tightened the clamp as much as I dared, still leaked. Put a SECOND clamp on. Leaked less, but still seeping around the edges. So I drained the coolant a second time, pulled the lower hose off the barb and inspected it. The molding seams were very prominent, and I surmised that must have been what caused the leaking. So with a metal file I carefully filed the seams down until the entire barb was smooth all the way around. Reinstalled the hose, modestly tightened the clamp this time, and no leaks. Moral of the story is, if you buy this radiator, be sure to inspect the barbs for molding seams!
