Power Steering Pump

Power steering pumps pressurize the fluid in the steering hydraulic system to allow for steering assist at slow road speeds. The power steering system is powered by the engine via a serpentine or v belt which spins the pump pulley. Power steering pumps are generally a lifetime component.

However, poor power steering system maintenance, old power steering fluid, and incorrect power steering fluid can cause the pump to fail prematurely. If your power steering pump is screaming or chirping when you are turning the wheels you may need to replace it.

ZF Pump leaky, replaed and leaky no mo...
Very happy with this ZF brand replacement power steering pump. My original one started leaking at the seams, un able to find a suitable rebuild kit on-line I opted to fork over the Cash money for this new part. The removal and installation was moderate and there were plenty of instructional blogs and videos online. After install and the replenishment of the CH-11S power steering fluid the task check 5.0 and ready for the road. Couldn't of been happier with the turn out of the project, oh and the loud pitch whine of the old pump is gone too. Purchase with confidence because ZF is the original equipment manufacture of most German power steering, Automatic transmission and hydraulic systems.
