This plastic pipe is a common replacement item on high mileage engines. It can crack causing coolant leaks. This replacement part includes 2 new o-rings required for leak free installation.

Engine Coolant Pipe

Radiator Pipes have an important job to transport your engines coolant to and from its cooling system components. Over time they can crack, corrode, or leak which warrants a replacement. When replacing we also recommend a coolant flush and replacement to remove any possible sludge formed over time.

About Rein

Founded in 2007, CRP Automotive introduced the Rein Automotive line of OE-quality replacement parts to the aftermarket. And in just two short years, Rein Automotive has become very popular among both warehouse distributors and professional repair technicians. Rein is the German word for “pure”, and has come to be synonymous with quality in the automotive aftermarket. A true dealer alternative.

The Rein brand includes a growing number of “better than OE” parts for selected applications. These parts address known weaknesses and premature failures of factory parts. Many of these replacement and service solutions have been developed with the help of our Innovation Council, a hand-picked group of experienced professional repair technicians and shop owners throughout North America.

All Rein Automotive OE-quality parts are backed by the CRP Automotive standard, and are backed with a ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certification. Each year, CRP Automotive ships thousands of Rein Automotive brand products. And with widespread NAFTA market distribution through strategically placed warehouses in Cranbury, New Jersey and Puebla, Mexico - OE-quality products like Rein Automotive are delivered to customers both faster and more cost-effectively than ever before.

In 2017 Rein partnered with FCP Euro in competing a W204 C300 AER car for the 2017 season. The partnership focused FCP Euro to dive deep into the Rein catalog offering, and hundreds of new products were added and integrated into our catalog. Hundreds of new packages were created not only using the full part pine up of Rein products, but also the entire family of CRP products like Pentosin.

Rein is also an innovative brand, winning numerous trade awards — including multiple new product innovation awards at the annual AAPEX trade show.

Leaked after 2 years
I replaced my heater and coolant pipe with Rein. They worked fine for two years and then started to leak. When I removed them, both of them broke at the o-rings and I had to fish out some plastic and one of the o-rings for both pipes. Hopefully this new set lasts longer. Good price but with less life expectancy than I expected.

Terrible O rings
Stay away. Installed this and went with OEM for the upper one . This one started leaking badly the second day leaving a trail on the ground. Removed the intake manifold and this was causing the leak since the O rings they use are terrible and came out distorted even though I installed them with silicone grease.

My X3 has 183,455 miles on the odometer and it's time to replace the coolant hard lines. The part that sits in the engine block broke off right away as soon as the pipe was unbolted and moved. Make sure to clean the bore where the pipe end is inserted, apply silicone paste to lubricate the o-rings, carefully wiggle and push it in then install the retaining bolts. Do a static leak test by pouring coolant into the recovery tank before reinstalling the intake manifold. Check all quick release coolant lines for leaks, if ok, then you're good to go.

Coolant pipe
It fit perfectly and doesn't leak. The aluminum hole it slides into wasn't perfect, so I put RTV on the o-ring. Good so far.

Absolutely get this pipe if doing anything requiring removal of timing chain cover
The part was a good , snug fit and completely necessary as the old pipes degrade and become permanently logged in the housing. Make sure to also get the upper pipe that goes into the head as well.

Perfect as always.
No brainer - replace this along with the other heater hoses. The old hoses corrode over time. Be sure to clean out the broken bits of old hose (o-rings get stuck too) inside the block. A necessity especially if you are a high mileage vehicle.
