Product Information

This OE offering from S-Tec is a replacement output flange for your X3's transfer case. This component of your vehicle's all-wheel drive (xDrive) system transmits power from the transfer case, back to the front axle in low-traction scenarios. Over time and miles, this output flange becomes worn down resulting in excessive vibrations or clunking.

This output flange includes the sealing o-ring but we recommend also purchasing the flange dust cover.

Transfer Case Output Shaft Flange

A transfer case output shaft seal is a sealing component located where the driveshaft connects to the transfer case in four-wheel- and all-wheel-drive vehicles. Its job is to prevent transmission fluid or gear oil from leaking out while keeping dirt and debris from entering the transfer case. By maintaining proper lubrication and fluid levels, the seal helps ensure smooth power delivery to the axles and protects internal components from damage.

Transfer Case Output Shaft Flange Failure Symptoms
  • Visible fluid leaks around the transfer case or under the vehicle.
  • Low fluid levels, leading to whining or grinding noises from the drivetrain.
  • Vibration or driveline issues, caused by inadequate lubrication from fluid loss.
