HVAC Heater Hose

Your vehicle heater hoses circulate hot engine coolant from the cooling system on the engine through the vehicle heater core, which is located inside the car's dashboard. This coupled with a blower motor, allows for the air inside the cabin to be heated. While critical to the functionality of your climate control system, your heater hoses are also very important to your vehicle's cooling system. Proper maintenance and inspection of your engine's heater hoses will help sustain performance in your climate controls inside the cabin and engine reliability preventing overheating.

HVAC Heater Hose Failure Symptoms
  • Cracks: Visible cracks on the hose surface, often caused by age or exposure to extreme temperatures
  • Leaks at connections: Leakage where the hose connects to other components due to worn or damaged clamps
  • Softness or deterioration: The rubber material of the hose becomes soft and loses structural integrity over time
  • Low coolant level: Regularly checking the coolant level can indicate a leak
  • Coolant smell under the hood or in the cabin: A strong coolant odor when the hood is open or inside the vehicle after the heat has been running
  • No heat from the heater: If the heater core isn't receiving enough heated coolant, no heat will be produced within the vehicle Visible coolant leaks: Leakage in the engine bay near the heater hose connections to the firewall

About Genuine BMW

The original parts used by BMW to build your car are available as replacement parts under the “Genuine BMW” brand. When ordering a Genuine BMW part you are guaranteed to get the same part that you would pick up from your local dealerships part department. Genuine BMW parts have been built to BMW’s stringent standards and are the same quality of the original parts used to build your Ultimate Driving Machine.

You may not realize this, but the parts that make up your BMW are not necessarily manufactured by BMW. No cause for concern, as BMW designs the part, hires a manufacturer, and ensures its quality to you. In fact, many of these manufacturers have been making parts for BMW for decades. In our industry these manufacturers are called OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers), and these are often brands you recognize, including Lemforder, ZF, Sachs, Bosch, Valeo, Zimmermann, Siemens VDO, Corteco, and more. Don’t be surprised to open that Genuine BMW parts box and find an OEM branded part inside, simply with the addition of a BMW logo.

Be sure to keep an eye out for OE tags on our product pages to quickly identify parts coming direct from OE manufacturers. That extra bit of insight could save you some serious money while shopping! Refer to our OE Academy for further information regarding the OE/OEM tags throughout the site.

Be patient
It takes patience maneuvering the hard plastic end into place especially if you are xdrive. Just be patient and it fit perfect. Changing this piece solved a coolant leak I was having for almost 6 months. 10/10 fitment

Questions & Answers

Ask a question
Question Posted by Justin
Is this the hose that connects to the lower portion of the expansion tank, transmission cooler, transfers coolant from thermostat and heater hose on a automatic 2008 335XI? or would that be part number, 17127564614?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Yes, this is the correct p/n.
Question Posted by a customer
Where the rubber hose "t's: on the plastic pipe by the letter P is in the picture has a rubber o-ring in the disconnect. Would you have this part or part number?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Replacement o-rings for the quick disconnect couplings are not available. BMW does not sell them separately and there is no information on sizing to go off of. You may be able to pull the o-ring and measure it to find a generic replacement but if the o-ring is compressed or damaged you will not get accurate measurements which could result in leaks on replacement.
