An Interior Rear View Mirror is the mirror mounted inside the vehicle’s cabin, usually on the windshield or roof, that allows the driver to see directly behind the car through the rear window. It is a primary safety component, enabling safe lane changes, reversing, and overall situational awareness.

Many modern rearview mirrors also include features such as auto-dimming (to reduce glare from headlights behind), integrated displays (for backup cameras), microphones, or sensors.
