Part of your BMW's intake manifold

The intake manifold adjuster, more commonly referred to as a DISA valve, is responsible for helping your BMW produce the best possible output across the rev range. The DISA valve artificially lengthens the intake runner at low RPM's for more low end torque and shortens the intake runners at high RPM's for more top end power.

A failed/failing DISA valve has the following symptoms:

  • Hesitation at low rpm
  • Rough idle
  • Lean codes
  • Loud noises from engine bay

Better safe than sorry.
Replaced an aftermarket FEBI unit installed by the previous owner that started getting stuck from a worn membrane after two years. Yeah you can buy a used one for under $100 but who knows how long that will last regarding the electrics and membrane. Installed the GAS disa upgrade onto my new one and now it should last another 20+ years.

Works/fit perfectly
Completely worn out DISA (20yrs old!) with massive O-ring leak, broken paddle. After replacement with genuine BMW part, rough idle completely disappeared, performance returned, and gas mileage began improving. Had part same day of order (pickup). Quick job--saved at least $350 over dealer doing the work. Thank you FCPEuro!

My 2001 BMW X5 E53 parts replacement were really headache. With FCP Lifetime replacement guarantee I can easily and confident keep this 20+ years old car. FCP is your only hope if you like me like to keep European cars. I hope FCP will be there forever. Change DISA valve if your E53 3.0i X5 with Very Low Speed ( like 5mile per hour ) engine stall. using BMW DISA valve for safe. I know it is pricey and it is worth. Also Oxygen adaption limitation meet events are matched this case. I have been fighting E53 3.0i X5 with Very Low Speed ( like 5mile per hour ) engine stalls for 5 years. DISA valve is the trouble maker you should replace for new one. Good luck to X5 E53 3.0i owners.

This is not sealed with an o-ring. It is sealed with a molded gasket that is physically part of the DISA itself. It is the orange material as seen in the pictures.
