Instrument clusters are typically a lifetime component. However, there are circumstances in which them may need to be replaced such as internal light failures or pixel failure. This replacement from BMW is sold uncoded.

An instrument cluster (also called the dashboard cluster or gauge cluster) is the panel located behind the steering wheel that displays essential vehicle information to the driver. It includes analog or digital gauges, warning lights, and information displays.

Instrument Cluster Failure Symptoms
  • Dead or flickering gauges – speedometer, tachometer, or fuel gauge not working properly.
  • Warning lights not illuminating (or stuck on) – either no alerts or false alerts.
  • Complete cluster blackout – no display, leaving driver without vital information.
