Product Information

This is an OEM part in a Rein box
**Expansion tank hose for models without rear heating**

Its time to change your HVAC Heater hose if they are dry, hard, brittle, or leaking. This is also a good time to check your coolant for a possible coolant flush and replacement.

HVAC Heater Hose

Your vehicle heater hoses circulate hot engine coolant from the cooling system on the engine through the vehicle heater core, which is located inside the car's dashboard. This coupled with a blower motor, allows for the air inside the cabin to be heated. While critical to the functionality of your climate control system, your heater hoses are also very important to your vehicle's cooling system. Proper maintenance and inspection of your engine's heater hoses will help sustain performance in your climate controls inside the cabin and engine reliability preventing overheating.

HVAC Heater Hose Failure Symptoms
  • Cracks: Visible cracks on the hose surface, often caused by age or exposure to extreme temperatures
  • Leaks at connections: Leakage where the hose connects to other components due to worn or damaged clamps
  • Softness or deterioration: The rubber material of the hose becomes soft and loses structural integrity over time
  • Low coolant level: Regularly checking the coolant level can indicate a leak
  • Coolant smell under the hood or in the cabin: A strong coolant odor when the hood is open or inside the vehicle after the heat has been running
  • No heat from the heater: If the heater core isn't receiving enough heated coolant, no heat will be produced within the vehicle Visible coolant leaks: Leakage in the engine bay near the heater hose connections to the firewall

About Rein

Founded in 2007, CRP Automotive introduced the Rein Automotive line of OE-quality replacement parts to the aftermarket. And in just two short years, Rein Automotive has become very popular among both warehouse distributors and professional repair technicians. Rein is the German word for “pure”, and has come to be synonymous with quality in the automotive aftermarket. A true dealer alternative.

The Rein brand includes a growing number of “better than OE” parts for selected applications. These parts address known weaknesses and premature failures of factory parts. Many of these replacement and service solutions have been developed with the help of our Innovation Council, a hand-picked group of experienced professional repair technicians and shop owners throughout North America.

All Rein Automotive OE-quality parts are backed by the CRP Automotive standard, and are backed with a ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certification. Each year, CRP Automotive ships thousands of Rein Automotive brand products. And with widespread NAFTA market distribution through strategically placed warehouses in Cranbury, New Jersey and Puebla, Mexico - OE-quality products like Rein Automotive are delivered to customers both faster and more cost-effectively than ever before.

In 2017 Rein partnered with FCP Euro in competing a W204 C300 AER car for the 2017 season. The partnership focused FCP Euro to dive deep into the Rein catalog offering, and hundreds of new products were added and integrated into our catalog. Hundreds of new packages were created not only using the full part pine up of Rein products, but also the entire family of CRP products like Pentosin.

Rein is also an innovative brand, winning numerous trade awards — including multiple new product innovation awards at the annual AAPEX trade show.

Quality Control Non-Existent
Bought this twice. Both times, the end that goes toward the heater core was 180 degrees in the wrong direction. Completely unusable. I should've known better to buy genuine the second time around.

This part was defective
I went to install this and the male end alignment pins were turned 180 degrees. Rein missed on production control. The quality is still very good. FCP Euro sent out replacement, but couldn't guarantee the replacement would not be the same. Replacement was manufactured the same. There are 3 ways to resolve: 1. cut the compression clamp off and turn the fitting 180 degrees and use a BMW Coolant Hose Clamp-NOM-16289, or 2. Return and buy a different brand, or 3. File down the alignment pin to fit smaller slot. I cut the compression clamp and turn it 180 degrees. Works like it should. 4 stars because it was inconvenient and put my repair behind schedule. This did stop the repair from happening because I could have twisted the hose 180 degrees and got the car back on the road, until I could get a replacement.
