Supports the glass on the rear of your E39 wagon, ideal for those moments where you just need to throw something in the back without opening the entire hatch

This supportive strut ensures that your E39 wagon's back glass access stays up. This strut is gas pressurized and can lose it's charge over time. If the glass will not stay open without assistance we recommend replacing the struts immediately. Having a large pane of glass hit you on the head unexpectedly can ruin a perfect day really quick.

Consistent and Better than the Dealer?
These have no problem holding up the glass on a heavy slope in cold weather, whereas the ones I bought new through BMW were pretty weak from the start. Also, please DON'T follow the long winded DIY articles/videos you find online. Use them to get access, but a decent 6 foot ladder with a block of wood holds the hatch up at a back corner perfectly, and the job shouldn't take more than a few hours (or an hour, if you're quick and careful).

Perfect just like the originals. And what makes them perfect is they are just as easy as the originals to pop onto the ball joint. Some aftermarket versions have a clip in the socket joint that makes them impossible to mount.

Support when I need it most
My E39 Touring's rear glass panel was sooo depressed it could not keep itself together. It would lower itself in shame due to the lack of support it was receiving from the other members of the team. We had a team meeting, I was surprised to find not only were the tailgate struts not supporting but the glass struts were not supporting my poor tailgate either! We either work as a team or this tailgate will never lift it's head in triumph! I ended up releasing the old struts to the Akron Landfills in a late season trade.
