An engine oil dipstick tube is the metal or plastic guide pipe that holds and directs the oil dipstick into the engine’s oil pan. It ensures accurate measurement of oil levels while also sealing the opening to prevent leaks or contaminants from entering the crankcase.

• Oil leaks around the base of the tube or where it meets the engine due to cracks or broken seals.
• Loose or broken dipstick fit, making it hard to get an accurate oil reading or causing the dipstick to pop out.
• Check engine smell or smoke, if oil seeps onto hot components from a damaged tube.
