Fog Light

A fog light is a type of automotive lighting mounted low on the front or rear of a vehicle, designed to improve visibility during poor weather conditions such as fog, rain, snow, or mist. Fog lights emit a wide, short beam of light that cuts through dense fog or other visual obstructions by illuminating the road just in front of the vehicle without reflecting into the driver's eyes, which can happen with normal headlights.

Fog Light Failure Symptoms
  • Dim or Flickering Lights: If the fog lights are dim or flicker on and off, it could indicate an issue with the electrical connections, a dying bulb, or corroded wiring. Flickering lights may also point to issues with the fog light switch or relay.
  • Condensation Inside the Fog Light Assembly: Moisture or condensation inside the Light assembly indicates a failing seal or crack in the housing.
  • Alignment Issues: If the Foglight assembly is damaged, misaligned, or loose, the Lights may not properly focus the light on the road, causing poor visibility.

Karl Zizala founded ZKW in Vienna in 1938. The brand name is derived from the initials of his name plus "W" for the Austrian capital ("Vienna", "Wien" in German).

Does this fit 2006 x3 m package x3?

No. This applies to pre LCI E83 X3's only (2003-2005). 2006 + models use the same foglights regardless of the front bumper. However, fitment is determined by whether the vehicle has adaptive headlights or not.
