A tow eye cap (also called a tow hook cover or tow eye cover) is a small removable panel or cover on a vehicle’s bumper or body panel that conceals the tow hook or tow eye mounting point. It’s designed to keep the tow point hidden for aesthetic purposes and to protect it from dirt, debris, and corrosion when not in use.
Tow Hook Cover Failure Symptoms- Missing or Loose Cap: The cap may fall off or be lost easily, often due to broken clips or poor fitment.
- Cracked or Broken Cap: Impact with debris, car washes, or minor collisions can crack or damage the cover.
- Rattling Noise: A loose or damaged tow eye cap can cause rattling sounds while driving.
