A Fuel Filler Door (also called a gas door, fuel door, or fuel lid) is the small hinged cover on the exterior of a vehicle that protects and conceals the fuel filler neck and cap. It is usually located on the rear quarter panel or fender and provides access to the fuel tank for refueling while keeping dirt, debris, and moisture away from the filler neck.

• Door won’t open or close properly – caused by a broken hinge, latch, or release mechanism.
• Loose or misaligned door – it may not sit flush against the body, rattling while driving.
• Fuel smell or dirt ingress – if the door or its latch is damaged, it can allow contaminants or moisture near the filler cap.
